P3 vs sRGB Color Space

Umut Topuzoğlu edited this page Jun 7, 2024 · 1 revision

Bluloco was originally created on a screen using the sRGB color space.

When I got a screen that was capable of showing a wider color space like P3, I realized the the colors are way more saturated when P3 is enabled. In most popular terminals you can change how the colors are interpreted, in which color space.

  • If you choose to use sRGB you will get the original version (which is still the version vscode uses).
  • Using P3 will result in way more saturated colors. If you really like the rainbow barf, go for it.

I needed some getting used to it, since contrast is rather high. But now I like it very much. In iTerm you can find the setting by searching for P3
