This is a hotfix attempt for #1708
If it works, I would suggest an emergency release (or loky hotfix release -> vendor update), and then trying to find a better workaround.
The issue requires an in-depth understanding of the interactions between loky and multiprocessing that will take more time to acquire, maybe @tomMoral can provide better insights ?
