macOS traffic lights are grey while Zen is focused

What happened?

The macOS "traffic light" buttons are greyed out whether the Zen window has focus or not.

Expected behavior

The traffic lights should be grey when the window is unfocused, but colourful when it's focused.

Actual behavior

The traffic lights are grey whether or not the window is focused (they are correctly colourful when in macOS full-screen).

Steps to reproduce

1. Open Zen (I'm using macOS 15.6)

When the mouse is nearly hovering over the traffic lights, just outside the hover target which makes the × - + symbols appear, they become colourful in a focused window, or slightly darker in an unfocused one:

This hover behaviour, combined with the fact that the grey buttons can be seen on the front page of the Zen website in all of the screencaps, makes me wonder if this is intentional:

However, as a macOS user, it feels broken, and makes me think the app doesn't have focus.

This is expected, it can be turned off with zen.widget.mac.mono-window-controls in about:config. Thanks!

Hm, fair enough I suppose. I'll just say that based on how every other Mac app works, my instinct was that it was a bug. I also did search the Zen settings for a way of turning it off, so we might consider adding it to "Look and Feel" area.

Edit: Ah, and now that I have that mono-window-controls keyword I can see that I'm not the first person to think this is a bug: #6036, #6067, #6776, and #9315 are all about the same thing.
