Red Hat Binaries for VisIt 3.4 #19617
-
Hi, I noticed that VisIt 3.4 does not have released binaries for Red Hat. Is there a plan to introduce binaries for Red Hat with new 3.4.x releases? Thanks! Erin |

Best I think we can say is it is in progress. We've tried various avenues and what we've tried is not yet sufficient. Still working on it. If you have thoughts or guidance (which RedHat versions, where best to obtain, etc.), please share. |

Definitely good news... it helps with the decision to hold off on bringing VisIt 3.4 in house. As far as versions go - if licensing is an issue I would recommend Rocky Linux, leaning forward with 8.10 and 9.4. Red Hat 8 would also be perfectly fine! |

There are binary distros created from RockyLinux container available at:
https://github.com/visit-dav/visit/releases/tag/v3.4.1
They were created after the release and have 'beta' as part of the name due to need for testing.
