Key bindings don't work on Doom Emacs?

Sorry if this comes across as naive - I'm a new emacs user coming from the vim world.

I use doom emacs, which turns on evil mode. I've been able to setup the plugin and use the jira-issues command to pull up a list of jira tickets assigned to me. I however cannot use any of the key bindings at this point, such as ? or C. I can manually run the command for the jira-issues-action-menu but that just tells me the list of key commands for the issue I have my cursor on, which I can't seem to use.

I'm guessing this might be a conflict with evil mode. Has anyone else run into this? Am I just not setting something up correctly for it to play nice with evil mode?

A quick search pointed me to https://github.com/emacs-evil/evil-collection/
It seems that users add some keybinding modifications to make evil-mode play well with common Emacs packages.
Maybe someone can help us adding jira.el there :)
