Rendering of bottom posted mails is completely broken in the UI #10495

Steps to reproduce
Open up any mail thread that has bottom posting. If the bottom posting is done with more number of quotes the rendering is absolutely broken.
It appears to me that the new code is trying to squish as many characters into some space as much as possible?

Expected behavior
The mails should render properly. The same mail renders like this in the previous version 15.0:
Actual behavior
The UI is broken as shared in the screenshot above.
Logs
The formatting and UI should not be horribly broken with new updates. This is completely unusable. Please consider to add this test for future releases. If possible codify it, if not, please, pretty please, do test this manually!
I had to uninstall and re-install previous versions on more than one occasion and had to re-setup all my mails as a result. This was rare in the days of earlier days of k9 mail. Please, if you can, a bit more testing again! :)
