⚠️ Road to Elastic Stack 9.x

• Today we have started to roll out the latest 8.17.5 Elastic Stack docker images.
• Starting next week we will start rolling out Elastic Stack 8.18.1 images in prep for upgrading to Elastic Stack 9.x.
• Once Elastic releases 9.1.x we will update the images and roll them out.

Please ensure to update your docker images regularly as missing out of 8.18.x image updates will break updating to Elastic Stack 9.1.x and leave you with a non-working installation.

Update 2025-05-12:

• Elastic Stack 8.18.1 images have been pushed out for rollout

Update 2025-06-14:

• Elastic Stack 8.18.2 images have been pushed out for rollout
• Elastic Stack 9.1.x not available yet

will these new docker images and version of es add any features or just keep it up with the most current versions?

This is first and foremost with regard to the Elastic EOL policy.
Making the jump early (but not too early) will ensure a smooth transition to 9.x.
