Hello, I want to set up auth for my family members, whom cannot be trusted to keep their email account secure. In this case, SMS is the safest option. Is this on the roadmap at all?

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, we've considered the option to use a phone number instead of an email address as username and handle authentication by sending a passcode via SMS.

We wanted to focus first on building a stable login experience around the passkey authentication method, and email passcode was the easiest base authentication/fallback method for us to implement. But you're right, in the current state of the project, you've got a problem if your email account is compromised.

I'll add SMS passcode support to our roadmap now, and we'll use this issue to track the progress.

May I also suggest WhatsApp support? In several areas of the world, most people don’t have SMS support and buy mobile plans with data only, preferring WhatsApp for messaging.

Hi, SMS passcodes are on backlog. It's likely that we'll be able to ship the feature later this year.

I'm also very interested in this.
I've had to roll my own SMS OTP authentication because no existing solution supports both SMS OTP and WebAuthn.
