Hi, I’m Swastik Baranwal — an open-source developer passionate about tooling, compilers, and fostering FOSS culture.
I’m a contributor to The V Programming Language and author of Box CLI Maker, a popular CLI library notably used by Kubernetes’ minikube ☸️
I maintain the V language library, including integrations with the catppuccin 🧑🎨 theme ecosystem and the nixpkg Maintainers team under NixOS 🏗️, contributing whenever I can.
Lately, I’ve been active in the WebDriver ecosystem — contributing features and bug fixes to Selenium, WebdriverIO, and Appium for more reliable and easier testing workflows 🤹♂️.
Beyond code, I contribute to open source governance, tooling, and infrastructure projects — including work with charmbracelet, the TODO Group, OSPO initiatives, TUIs, CLIs, and more.
My journey has been featured on the GitHub Open Source Friday podcast 🎙️, Open Source Initiative (OSI) 💚, and the GitHub Maintainer Month Library
I also organise community meetups in Delhi with FOSS United, where I serve on the first governance board to help nurture FOSS culture in India. From May 2023 to January 2025, I also served as a CFP reviewer for the foundation.
I have participated in writing reports including OSPOlogy BoF 📔
In addition, I’ve volunteered at GopherCon (2024, 2025), KaiCode’24, written book reviews, spoken at developer events, and continue to be involved in growing the open-source ecosystem.
