How about a new release?

There have not been any code changes for some months, and no pressing open issues, so perhaps it is time for a new release? What do you think?

Checklist:

• Add documentation for the JSON format
• Update CHANGELOG.md
• Get Ok from maintainers (thumbs up reactions)

Yes, agreed. What I feel is missing (and I was planning on working on that), is a description of the JSON format in a markdown file (doc/fping-json.md or something like that), maybe with some examples.

I updated the description (it's a bit weird that I change your comment sorry) so that it has a checklist

I think that we can release fping 5.5 now. Any objections? I'd like to release it before the traceroute code is merged.

I didn't want to include the traceroute function in version 5.5 anyway.

I tested the functions of fping on the following systems and, as far as I'm concerned, the release can be created.

• Debian (trixie)
• Ubuntu (nobel)
• FreeBSD
• Windows 11 WSL 2 Ubuntu (jammy)
