Description
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
My feature request is not directly related to a problem or bug, but instead to a feature which I believe would be convenient.
I'll try to explain my use case.
Sometimes, I use two different cameras to take pictures. Sometimes, it happens that the clocks of the two cameras differ, for whatever reason (e.g. I changed the battery and then forgot to re-adjust the clock of the camera). At the moment when the pictures are taken, one might not notice this, but the "wrong" time stamp is saved in the EXIF data by the camera.
Now I copy the photos to my PC and upload to Nextcloud to view the photos in the Memories Timeline. And there I see that the timestamp is wrong, because the order of a couple photos is reversed. Normally this is not a big problem, but sometimes, one wants to have a certain order of the photos. In such a case, the timestamp can be manually adjusted. However, I recently thought it would be much more convenient, if I could adjust the timestamp of the photos by drag & drop in the timeline.
Describe the solution you'd like
Consider you have photos A, B and C in the timeline. Photo C has a "wrong" timestamp. My idea is to left click on the photo C, keep the left mouse button pressed and drag photo C between photos A and B, and then release the mouse button. This would then adjust the EXIF timestamp of photo C such that it is in the middle of the time stamps of photo A and B, such that in the future, the Memories Timeline will show the photos in the order A, C, B.
Example: Photo A taken on Jan 1 2024 9AM. Photo B taken at Jan 1 2024 8AM. Due to some mistake, photo C has timestamp 1 Jan 2015. Drag & drop the photo C between photos A and B, then the timestamp Jan 1 2024, 8:30AM will be calculated, and stored to the EXIF Data of the Photo C, overwriting the original timestamp. Additionally, before saving, a warning message could be displayed.
It would also work with multiple photos. For example
photo A is from Jan 1 2024, 9AM
photo B is from Jan 1 2024, 8AM
photos C, D, E have wrong time stamps. The user selects them and drags & drops them between photos A and B. The timestamps will be set to
photo C: Jan 1 2024, 8:45AM
photo D: Jan 1 2024, 8:30AM
photo E: Jan 1 2024, 8:15AM
just linearly interpolated between 8:00AM and 9:00AM.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Of course one can adjust the timestamps manually. This works, but for instance, I have one folder with 6800 pictures taken in 2023. At some point, my camera lost its clock and was reset to 2015, so the sequence of the photos is wrongly displayed in the timeline. I would need to manually adjust the timestamps of around >1000 photos, which is not feasible. The exact time is not so much important, but it would be nice to have them displayed in the right order in the Timeline.
