Proceeding with review of offlinedatasci paper #31

Description

@ethanwhite

We originally submitted the paper in openjournals/jose-reviews#249 in May of 2024 and I've followed up immediately on bot related notifications and asked what I can do to help the review proceed multiple times in openjournals/jose-reviews#249. It would be really helpful if the review process could get started soon. If that isn't possible please let me know so that we can explore other options.

Given the ongoing lack of response and the now 9 month period without any progress we're going to see if JOSS finds this package appropriate. If they agree to review it we'll formally withdraw the submission from JOSE.

That is totally on me, I have a months-long backlog, and have been unable to shepherd incoming submissions and assign editors. My notifications and email are overflowing and I chip away at little bits when I can.

No worries. I totally get it. Just couldn't ask the student to wait any longer. If you're interested in adding someone else to help out with this sort of managing editor sort of work I'd be happy to chat about whether or not I could be helpful in that role.
