Official Linux executable name

We're happy to see that Linux distributions have begun providing Edit as a package. A heartfelt "Thank You!" goes out to everyone who was involved in this. ❤️

However, there's no consistency to executable name yet. Distributions shy away from naming it "edit" due to conflicts with existing projects, such as "vi". We would like to give an official recommendation what to call the editor, aside from "edit":

msedit seems best in my eyes. The reason for not voting for ms-edit is that the - character moves depending on keyboard layout meaning that it can be hard to type sometimes (recovery environments and so on without localised keyboard)

msed could be an alternative.

Since msed wasn't an option, I voted msedit. When I first downloaded Edit I instinctively aliased its executable in my Downloads folder to msedit.

The most daring one would probably be @fixwater's suggestion: me. There's something very seductive about that one.

Things i like about this name:

• it is as short as edit
• doesn't conflict with anything known (yet)
• all shorter versions lack either of meaning or kind of conflict with something with diffferent associations
• it's very recognizable. You think about: " ah, i want to call the ms-editor. That will be msedit, but it's just shorter to write - msed"
• look at the keyboard - it is the m, followed by th letters sed, which is this nice triangle on the keyboard. Very fast, nice and easy to type.

A note on ms-edit:

All the common Linux commands do not have a - in the name. In PowerShell that is common, but it's really foreign on Linux. - is used for command line parameters when I looked at ms-edit for the first time I read it with a space ms -edit

I would personally prefer mse as I like short names. But this may run counter to the goal of keeping it simple for those new to the cli. As such I will create an alias for mse but I think the default name should be msedit

msedit is clearly the most ergonomic and sensical name for the tool. Anyone can symlink to it with other options as they like, eg ln -s /usr/bin/msedit /usr/local/bin/mse or whatever permutation you want. msedit also makes sense for findability and other reasons as well.

While I have preferences myself, and so does surely everyone here, I've decided to go with "msedit" as it received the overwhelming majority of votes (about 2/3rds!). Here's the PR: #423
