Show local images in Markdown files #40787

Description of the new feature / enhancement
At the moment images in Markdown files are not displayed and it shows "Some pictures have been blocked to help prevent the sender from identifying this computer. Open this item to view pictures.". I understand the security reasons for the restriction with web based images but how about making local image files visible?
Scenario when this would be used?
I use .md files to document apps that I'm developing and often include images. It's a shame the extension can't display the local images - the .png files are in the same folder as the .md file.
