Dot operator for attributes

I'm wondering if the ability to access a "property" of a complex value should be available:

print array.length;

This would be fairly simple to use.

could this convert numbers to strings? How to easily stringify a value?

Clarification: The dot operator will enable access to "attributes" of a value, including built-in functions like toString(), depending on the type.
