How to add pagination for posts and projects

Hello,
I am new to Hugo, and I would like to know how to add pagination for posts and projects (I would like to limit the number of posts and projects to 10 items by pages).
I see the "paginate" option in hugo documentation, but this does not seem to work.
So what should i try to do or modify in the theme ?

it depends on the section: the listing page doesn't really have a pagination option but the listing on the home page (showing the most recent or popular post) does have a "pagination" option. You can change that on layouts/partials/index.html line 46 & 51
