pre-commit replacement?

With ruff and uv both resounding successes, and ty poised to follow suit, I'm wondering if Astral might ever be interested in coming up with a better alternative to pre-commit? I think there's room for just a 100x faster and better-designed drop-in replacement, but just having a less hostile maintainer of this important infrastructure would be doing the world a service.

We're currently very busy building ty, uv, ruff. Which is why it's unlikely that we'll build a pre-commit replacement in the near future.
