[Manjaro] DualShock 4 doesn't seem to have any button bound to hook shot

I'm running Manjaro with the default bluetooth and gamepad drivers that come with it. I got a hook shot in tunics and tried every button on my controller, but nothing used the hook shot. I had to press a random button on my keyboard to use it, which obviously is not ideal in action. I would expect the hook shot to be usable via the square button, which is in the same position as the Y button on an SNES controller.
