Video file name not following the format stated in "filename format" option

Right now the format (preferences>recording> filename format) is "[artist] date:%Y-%m-%d %H:%M; title"

However the download file name does not follow this rule, also is there a document tell us how us the syntax to be used to change the filename the way you want it?
