Weblate translations issue

Hi @Gedsh,

for some reason each time the strings.xml is being updated on Weblate: The “tordnscrypt/src/main/res/values-es/strings.xml” file was changed., Weblate own service proceeds to revert many of the translated/corrected strings back to his own translation. This is an example of such a revert done several times under the "History" tab.

I hope there is a way to stop it changing already edited translations. Interestingly this has only happened to me on this project.

Thank you for your contribution to the project! I really appreciate it.

The specificity of the Spanish translation is that it was done by a native Spanish speaker who knows the technical background of InviZible. He didn't just translate terms, but understood how everything really works. Personally, I don't know Spanish, but I tend to believe him.

So for the Spanish translation, I only accept translations of new and changed terms. I don't know how to specify this for the Spanish translation in weblate.

this is strange, most of the translations have no history so I was under the impression the translations were done by a LLM or similar before submitting to Weblate. The translation lenguage used is quite confusing in many of the Setting strings and even at times the usage of the second person polite and coloquial usage is mixed. Overall most of the settings explanations is difficult to understand.

That's why I gave it two passes and probably would need one or two more to homogenize all terms, although if the changes cannot be kept better leave it as is. My corrections have gone into the last update by the way and looks quite good IMO.

Because they were translated a long time ago, before the LLM era, without using weblate.

I can replace the old translation with yours if the answers to all of the following questions are positive:

1. Are you from Spain?
2. Do you have a technical background and advanced level of use of Tor, DNSCrypt, I2P?
3. Are you a regular user of InviZible?

If all the answers are yes, I will contact the previous translator who has the above skills and propose your translation to him. Let's see what he says.

Not really technical but have played with most Tor options due to some difficult scenarios on my side. Haven't really messed with torrc. I use DNSCrypt on desktop and Android. I2Pd has seen the least usage.

3. Are you a regular user of InviZible?

Yes, past two years now.

If all the answers are yes, I will contact the previous translator who has the above skills and propose your translation to him. Let's see what he says.

Fair enough, no one likes to see his work unnecessary modified and this is something Weblate should work on in general.

Thank you! I'm actually glad you're here and can continue to translate the app with such solid background, as the previous translator unfortunately doesn't have any free time yet.

Yes, this is a big problem. The previous translator often complained that someone messes up his translation, and these people might be from Brazil, but not from Spain. And the translation is not correct. So I decided to lock his translation. But now I will contact him and I think we will go further.

The translation mess can be annoing although people are usualy just trying to help. Would have been useful to have some hierarchy or got the ability for the owner of the project to restrict the access to a selected members.
